On February 10-11, 2022, Vitalii Kurylo, Chairman of the Academic Council of the University, and Olena Karaman, Rector, took part in the EU Program Coordination Meeting, which was held at the Donetsk National Technical University (Pokrovsk city).
The event was attended by representatives of the displaced HEIs – beneficiaries of the EU grant program “Support to Displaced Universities in Donetsk and Luhansk Regions”.
The purpose of the meeting is to update information on the state of implementation of grant projects; to raise awareness of the displaced HEIs in the implementation of various international technical assistance projects; discuss and determine further actions for the implementation of the support program.
The organizer and coordinator of the meeting was Nazarii Atamanchuk, strategic planner of the United Nations Peace Recovery and Development Program.
Representatives of the displaced HEIs got to know about the progress of the project with the financial support of the EU “EDUTIP – Energy-efficient Digital University for Technical Innovation Promotion” on the basis of the Donetsk National Technical University (Pokrovsk city).
The Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work of DonNTU Viktoria Voropaieva made a tour of the university, the content of which was an inspection of reconstruction objects and a presentation of the material and technical base.
When discussing the results of the implementation of grant projects within the framework of EU support for displaced universities, Vitalii Kurylo and Olena Karaman outlined the state of implementation by our university of the EU project “Intensification of Influence of Teachers of Luhansk Region on the Processes of Reconciliation and Peace-Building” for two years; tasks for the third and final year of its implementation were predicted.
The central event was the presentation of the opportunities for the participation of displaced universities in international technical assistance projects and the EU Erasmus + Program for the development of the internationalization of universities.
Svitlana Shytikova, Director of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, and Svitlana Kalashnikova, specialist in institutional development of the HEI, became experts in this matter.
The event ended with the provision of tools for the displaced HEIs to institutionally audit the potential of higher education and identify needs for their development.
