The culmination of the implementation of the EU Project in 2021 was an interim (comparative) case study with the aim of monitoring the status of its implementation during the second year.
The methodology of the intermediate (comparative) sociological research “Organization and monitoring of the status of the implementation of the Project “Intensification of Influence of Teachers of Luhansk Region on the Processes of Reconciliation and Peace-Building”consisted of 4 stages:
1) organization of research (subject, object, purpose, objectives, creation of tools);
2) field stage (collection of primary sociological information);
3) processing and analysis of the data obtained (preparation, processing and analysis, interpretation);
4) recommendations (applied phase of research results).
Monitoring the ongoing collection of primary sociological information on progress in achieving the goals and objectives of the Project in terms of the results achieved included the use of various methods, techniques and tools for collecting primary sociological information: document analysis, observation, survey (questionnaire, focused group interview, self-assessment (projective methods, SWOT analysis); methodologies: Daniel Staflebim’s CIPP Model (modified), Donald Kirpatrick’s Learning Assessment Model (modified), PRA / PCA Rapid Assessment Methodology, Sorting Averages, etc.
The evaluation involved a thorough and independent measurement of completed or ongoing activities in order to establish the level of achievement of the set goals in order to adjust the progress of the project, improve it or make appropriate management decisions. The evaluation used criteria such as effectiveness, efficiency, compliance, sustainability, impact.
The field stage of the sociological research included:
1) assessment of the dynamics of professional knowledge and skills of teachers and lecturers of the Luhansk region based on the results of participation in the “Program to improve teaching skills” by the method of polling (questioning) teachers and lecturers;
2) determining the effectiveness of the developed and being implemented “Program to improve teaching skills” by the method of polling (focused group interview) of developers, trainers, moderator and consultant of the Program;
3) assessment of the effectiveness of the progress and intermediate results of the Project within 2 years of its implementation by the survey method (focused group interview) of the steering committee and the partners of the Project;
4) expert assessment of the quality of training programs developed in the course of the project by the method of expert survey (questionnaire survey) of independent experts;
5) analysis of project documentation (reports, current descriptive documentation, news on social networks and media).
The statistical indicators of the intermediate (comparative) sociological study, taking into account the main sociological methods, are:
1) survey: questionnaires (input and output questionnaires) – 200 questionnaires have been completed;
2) SPF of the Project Steering Committee (5 informants);
3) analysis of documents (reports, working minutes, etc. – 27 documents with a total volume of 541 pages were analyzed);
4) expert survey (28 questionnaires + 28 expert opinions);
5) observation: observation diary.
At the end of the sociological research, the data were processed and analyzed, and recommendations for further implementation and improvement of the Project were developed.
