The University Rector Olena Karaman, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Yaroslava Yurkiv, and ValeriIa Vasyk, a teacher of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism, continue to visit the city of Warsaw (Republic of Poland) as part of the “Study Tours to Poland” Program of the Polish-American Freedom Foundation. (17-23.03.2024).
The fourth day of the visit took place at the Maria Grzegozhevska Academy of Special Pedagogy in the ancient meeting hall of the University Senate.
The experience gained from the university, namely:
- trainings on the topic of the quality of education and the “learning community”;
- discussion of the role of the university in the environment;
- discussion of areas of cooperation;
- presentation and indication of possible forms of social work with war veterans (methods of activation of local communities, social service centers, etc.);
- discussion of work according to the methodology of a social project;
- discussion of educational programs and ECTS points;
- training on Nonviolent Communication;
- training on inclusiveness of visually impaired persons using simulators;
- training on the promotion and strengthening of mental health based on the latest publications;
- training on gender equality.
This full day at the Maria Grzegozhevska Academy of Special Pedagogy and the experience gained is invaluable for improving educational programs in psychology, social work, and special education in Ukrainian higher education institutions.
The visit was organized by the “Leaders of Change” Foundation and the Polish Rectors Foundation as part of the “Study Tours to Poland” program of the Polish-American Freedom Foundation.
