On September 29, Warsaw (Republic of Poland) hosted a significant event for representatives of pedagogical science in Ukraine and Poland – a joint meeting of the Committee of Pedagogical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Academic Council of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, which resulted in the signing of the Agreement on Cooperation in Scientific and Educational Activities.
The event was organized by representatives of both sides: from the Polish side – the head of the Committee of Pedagogical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Professor Agnieszka Cybal-Michalska; from the Ukrainian side – by Vasyl Kremen, President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Philosophy of Education, General and Preschool Pedagogy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Svitlana Sysoieva, Chairman of the Academic Council of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Vitalii Kurylo, Rector of the University, Director of the NDC on the basis of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine Olena Karaman.
The meeting took place in the center of Warsaw, in the Palace of Culture and Science, in a mixed (face-to-face-distance) format. 11 members of the Academic Council from Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University attended the event, others participated online.
At the beginning of the event, prof. Agnieszka Cybal-Michalska, prof. Svitlana Sysoieva, prof. Vitalii Kurylo, prof. Olena Karaman expressed their congratulations and words of boundless gratitude to the educators and scientists of Ukraine and Poland, the Ukrainian and Polish peoples, the Presidents of Ukraine and Poland for common positions and actions in the fight against Russian aggression and the entire civilized world.
The topics of the meeting were “Higher Education in Ukraine Under Martial Law: “Displaced Universities”, “Higher education in Poland – development of the discipline of pedagogy, education of young scientific and pedagogical personnel in the spirit of high scientific and methodical culture” – aimed to introduce Ukrainian and Polish colleagues with the phenomenon of the “displaced university”, which appeared and was introduced into scientific and legal circulation by scientists of LTSNU as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the occupation of territories and universities (2014, 2022); to carry out an exchange of experience in the training of highly qualified scientific personnel in Ukraine and the Republic of Poland; determine directions of cooperation in educational and scientific activities for joint struggle against Russian aggression and defense of European values.
In accordance with the agenda, reports of scientists – members of the Academic Council of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and the Committee of Pedagogical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences were presented at the meeting:
- Prof. Vitalii Kurylo “Relocated university as a new phenomenon in the education of Ukraine: history, problems, actions”;
- Prof. Olena Karaman “Scientific activity of the displaced university and training of highly qualified scientific personnel”;
- Prof. Marian Nowak “Promotion and support of scientific personnel in Poland (legal provisions – normative acts – good practices) in the activities of the Scientific Research Council”;
- Prof. Krzysztof Rubakha “Functioning and scientific publication development of the Research Instrumentation Laboratory under the leadership of the head of the Pedagogical Research Methodology section” of the Committee of Pedagogical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The reports of scientists aroused lively interest, interesting discussions and debates on the part of all participants.
The bright finale of the meeting was the signing of the Agreement on Cooperation between the Committee of Pedagogical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Academic Council of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, which was solemnly sealed with the signatures of prof. Agnieszka Cybal-Michalska and Prof. Vitalii Kurylo.
The meeting participants exchanged souvenirs, contacts and continued communication in an informal atmosphere.
