“Culture of Memory in Luhansk Region”

Recently, Dr. of Ph.D., Director of the ER IHIRSPS Anton Bader and Doctor of Science, Professor, Head of the Department of History of Ukraine Oleksandr Naboka took part in the work of the strategic session “Culture of Memory in Luhansk Region”.

The strategic session “Culture of Memory in Luhansk Region” was initiated by the Crisis Media Center “Siverskyi Donets”. The event, which took place at the resort of Vojvodino in Transcarpathia, lasted for two days. In its course, the participants of the event including leading scientists, journalists, and statesmen  discussed the strategy of forming the politics and culture of memory in the Luhansk region, which was understood as the concept of rethinking historical and modern social experience with the aim of restoring and further developing Ukrainian identity in the region. The leading directions of educational, cultural, scientific and state-building work were determined, which, according to the session participants, will contribute to the formation of a systemic pro-Ukrainian humanitarian policy of the Luhansk region after its de-occupation.

The participants of the event noted the relevance and importance of this kind of discussion, determined the further action plan in the process of forming the policy and culture of memory, formulated the main directions and principles of further work in this direction. All agreed that such strategic sessions should be continued.
