On December 14, Oksana Shevchyk, the leading librarian of LTSNU, held an online lecture “Academic Integrity in Higher Education.”
The online lecture was held for teachers and students of “Political Science”, “Sociology”, “International Relations” and “SO History and Law”.
Article 42 of the Law of Ukraine “On Education” defines academic integrity as a set of ethical principles and rules defined by law, which should be guided by the participants of the educational process during learning, teaching and carrying out scientific (creative) activities in order to ensure trust in the results of training and/or scientific ( creative) achievements.
During the lecture, Ms. Shevchyk focused on key aspects related to ensuring integrity in the academic environment. She highlighted the ethical norms and standards that both teachers and students must adhere to in order to ensure a high level of professionalism and trust in the educational process.
The lecture addressed specific aspects of academic integrity relevant to these majors, providing practical advice and real-life examples. The event identified the need for continuous improvement and development of honesty values in the educational environment.
The lecture not only stimulated discussions, but also caused practical reflections among teachers and students. We hope that the acquired knowledge will become the basis for building a fair, ethical and balanced educational environment. All participants of the event remain staunch supporters of the values of honesty and high standards in the field of higher education.
