Visit of the UNDP representative

On June 28, a representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Honorary Doctor of Sciences of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University Jan Peyril visited the university.

The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the activities of the university in the conditions of the second relocation in the Poltava region; monitoring and support of the university’s implementation of the EU Project “Intensification of Influence of Teachers of Luhansk Region on the Processes of Reconciliation and Peace-Building”.

Jan Peyril has been a friend and reliable partner of the university since 2015. At that time, he represented the Czech Development Agency and did a lot for the restoration and development of the material and technical base of our university in the conditions of the first displacement in the territory of Luhansk region as a result of the armed conflict (2014-2022). For his significant contribution to the revival of the university, Jan Peyril was awarded the honorary title of “Honorary Doctor of Sciences of LTSNU”.

During this visit, Jan Peyril together with the Rector Olena Karaman, the Head of the Academic Council Vitalii Kurylo, the head of the Trade Union Organization Volodymyr Moroz, the head of the International Relations Department Iryna Myhovych and Acting Vice-Rector for administrative and economic work Artur Moldovanov, visited the renovated auditoriums equipped with equipment that was purchased within the framework of the EU Project implementation; talked with teachers and students; identified the problems facing the university; carried out monitoring of the current status of the implementation of the EU Project; provided advice and recommendations on the preparation of documentation for its completion.

Oleksandr Hrytsaienko, the Head of the Lubny City Council, also visited the university for a meeting with Jan Peyril, who presented a small souvenir to the guest in memory of Lubny and participated in the discussion of the problems of the institution at the round table.

The meeting took place in a constructive and warm atmosphere, during which the participants exchanged opinions on improving the work and conditions of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and made their proposals for further cooperation in this direction.
