Meeting of the Ecological Club

On March 14, the Department of Landscape Gardening and Ecology held a meeting of the participants of the ecological club on the topic: “Bioconversion of organic waste: vermiculture.”

During the remote meeting, the participants discussed the advantages of processing organic waste from agricultural production with the help of earthworms – vermiculture. Vermicompost, a valuable organic fertilizer in itself, is a product of the processing of cattle manure by red California worms. Its natural properties make it possible to use vermicompost safely and grow crops with confidence in the result.

One of the advantages of vermiculture is that it restores the most degraded soils that are polluted by excessive use of fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides and other chemicals to control pests and diseases. In addition, the participants got to know about the technology of obtaining complex humic fertilizers based on vermicompost on the example of Ukrainian enterprises. Thank you to all the participants of this event for an interesting discussion!
