The most musical meeting of the Youth Club of Eastern Cultures

A meeting of the Youth Club of Eastern Cultures was held at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, dedicated to the traditions and modern trends of the music of Far East countries.

It`s well-known that oriental music has become very popular among young people both in Ukraine and around the world. On March 15, the Department of Oriental Languages held another meeting of the Youth Club of Oriental Cultures, which was attended by students learning Chinese and Japanese, as well as their teachers. The meeting was devoted to the traditions and modern musical trends of Far East countries, such as China and Japan.

The first to speak was Oleksandra Voropaeva, a student of the EP “Language and Literature (Japanese, English)”, who prepared a report and presentation about the music of vocaloids (VOCALOID). Vocaloids are virtual singers whose voices are donated by popular Asian singers. The topic of the report became a discussion issue at the meeting.

Khimochka Iryna, a student of the EP “Language and Literature (Chinese, English)” spoke about the special musical instruments of Far East countries. Artem Samilo, who studies Japanese, reported on the life and work of the world-famous legendary Japanese singer Miki Matsubara (松原 みき). Olena Zhuykova, who studies Chinese, shared information about Beijing opera (京剧) and its historical origins. Stepanytsia Anna shared information about the life and work of modern singer Fuji Kaze (藤井 風), who is very popular among young people. Alina Nazarenko had a speech about the peculiarities of the creativity of the Japanese vocal and dance group Babymetal (ベビレメル). Dmytro Gonchar introduced the audience to Kabuki theater (歌舞伎), which is a synthesis of singing, music, dance and drama.

The meeting was filled with music. All those present had the opportunity to express their impressions, listen to good music, and chat.
