World Book and Copyright Day

On the World Book and Copyright Day, students of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology visited the Lubny city library for adults named after V. Leontovych.

This day is for everyone who loves to read and respects books. This holiday is celebrated in order to draw attention to the culture of the written word, to preserve the culture of reading, to increase interest in the book as a source of knowledge, as well as in issues of copyright and intellectual property protection.

Students learned about interesting books for modern youth, which were adapted into a screen. The library employee recommended getting acquainted with literary works that are worth reading. Among them: the science fiction short story “Flowers for Algernon”, written by the American science fiction writer Daniel Keyes; the novel “The Painted Veil” by the English writer William Somerset Maugham; science fiction horror novel by the American writer and screenwriter Richard Matheson “I am a legend”; the best-selling novel by the German writer Bernhard Schlink “The Reader”; Markus Zuzak’s historical novel “The Book Thief”; the novel by the English writer Jojo Moyes “Me Before You”; Paula Hawkins’ psychological thriller The Girl on the Train; the fantasy literary cycle of the Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski “The Witcher”; science fiction novel by the American writer Veronica Roth “Divergent”.

Let’s read, become wiser, respect the book, respect the authors!
