On January 27, 2023, a meeting of the project manager, the head of the Academic Council of LTSNU, Vitalii Kurylo, and the representative of the project management team, the Rector of the University, Olena Karaman, with the administrations, departments and educational institutions of the Luhansk region was held.
The meeting with the educational community of the Luhansk region took place in the format of a round table with the support of the Luhansk Regional Military-Civilian Administration in the person of the Deputy Head Kateryna Bezgynska and the Department of Education and Science of the Luhansk Regional Military-Civilian Administration in the person of the director Yurii Stetsiuk.
There were two questions on the agenda of the round table on the topic: “The state and prospects of cooperation of the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” with administrations, departments and educational institutions of the Luhansk region: 1. About the activities of the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” in the conditions of Russia’s war against Ukraine and the second displacement (the speaker was Vitalii Kurylo). 2. The current state and prospects of cooperation of the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” with the administrations, departments and educational institutions of the Luhansk region (the speaker was Olena Karaman).
Vitalii Kurylo talked about the activities of the university in the conditions of a full-scale war and its second relocation to the Poltava region (Poltava, Lubny, Myrhorod); the significant role of the EU Project “Intensification of Influence of Teachers of the Luhansk Region on the Processes of Reconciliation and Peace-Buidling” in establishing new partnership relations with administrative institutions, departments and educational institutions of the Poltava region and restoring and maintaining ties with the educational system of the Luhansk region; development of the material and technical base of the university in the new city, etc.
Olena Karaman carefully characterized the current state and identified 10 promising areas of cooperation between the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” and administrations, departments and educational institutions of the Luhansk region in the conditions of displacement, in particular within the framework of the EU Project “Intensification of Influence of Teachers of the Luhansk Region on the Processes of Reconciliation and Peace-Building”.
The meeting was attended by heads of education management bodies of district state administrations, city, village, settlement councils, military-civilian administrations of Luhansk region, representing the United Territorial Communities (UTCs) of 4 districts of Luhansk region, which also moved to free Ukrainian territory as a result of the temporary occupation and heavy fighting on the territory of Luhansk region.
During the constructive communication, the participants of the round table came to the conclusion about the need to consolidate all subjects of the educational system of Luhansk region around a common goal – Victory, de-occupation and reintegration of Luhansk region into the Ukrainian legal space; continuation of the joint implementation of the EU Project “Intensification of Influence of Teachers of the Luhansk Region on the Processes of Reconciliation and Peace-Building” as a consolidating factor of the peacebuilding processes in the Luhansk region both in the conditions of war and post-war recovery.
