LTSNU signed a five-year framework cooperation agreement with the University of Bath, Bath, Great Britain.
On November 15, a framework cooperation agreement was signed with the University of Bath (University of Bath), Great Britain (https://www.bath.ac.uk/). The term of the agreement is 5 years (with further extension). The University of Bath is a public education and research institution located in Bath, Somerset, United Kingdom. The institution was awarded a royal charter in 1966. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, 32% of the University of Bath’s research projects achieved the highest possible rating of 4*, defined as world-leading in terms of originality, significance and integrity. The institution’s annual income for 2020-2021 was £289.5 million, of which £37.2 million came from research grants and contracts.
The signing of the agreement became one of the planned and successfully implemented steps regarding the institutional cooperation of the two educational institutions, carried out by the international relations departments of the universities and their leaders – Mrs. Ruth Robert-Chen from the University of Bath and Mrs. Iryna Myhovych from the LTSNU. The areas of cooperation also include: provision of technical equipment and furniture by the British university (planned delivery date – December 2022); improving the conditions for providing services for the university library (taking into account the features of the online repository system); joint development of professional training programs for scientific-pedagogical and administrative staff (aspects of the internationalization process in higher education institutions, including COIL technology in the teaching-learning process); student mobility windows for bachelor’s / master’s / PhD students, etc.
Currently, the direction of student mobility has also been implemented –four students of LTSNU, Faculty of Foreign Languages, specialty “035.041 Philology. Germanic languages and literatures (including translation), first language is English. Translation (English and a second foreign language (Chinese))”, received the opportunity and financial support of around £6,000 (per person) to study in the UK for one semester. The programme of their stay at the partner institution also provides for familiarization with the structure and organization of the educational process at the university, visits to research laboratories and centers, communication with representatives of the international support service (including for students) at the university, etc.
Note: the implementation of institutional cooperation between the two universities is carried out due to the participation of “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” in the transnational (international) project “UNITY INITIATIVE” with the assistance of the President of Ukraine Fund for the Support of Education, Science and Sports in partnership with the Great Britain Association of Universities and the Cormack Consultancy Group.
