Strategic International Partnerships with Foreign Universities

Our university traditionally defines the intensification of international activities and the establishment of strategic partnerships with foreign institutions as one of the strategic directions of its work.

State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” traditionally defines the intensification of international activities and the establishment of permanent (strategic) partnerships with foreign institutions as one of the strategic directions of its work. The conceptual and regulatory principles of this are reflected, in particular, in the Development Strategy of State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” for 2019-2025, the Strategic Plan of International Relations Office for 2021-2025, Regulations on International Relations Office of State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” and other regulatory documents of the institution.

The implementation of the aforementioned involves the strengthening of institutional international cooperation according to the model of long-term (strategic) partnerships, which is successfully developed by International Relations Officeof the University. Thus, during October – November 2022, the University concluded a number of framework agreements on international cooperation with such foreign universities as: 1) The University of Bath, county of Somerset, Great Britain (http://luguniv.edu.ua/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/mizch_diial_2022_11_UoB-LTSNU_Twinning_MoU_signed_fr.pdf); 2) Cahul State University „Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu», Cahul, Republic of Moldova (http://luguniv.edu.ua/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/ugoda_spivpr_Cahul_State_University.pdf), 3) Universitatea Pedagogicăde Stat “ION CREANGĂ”,Chisinau, Republic of Moldova (http://luguniv.edu.ua/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/mizch_diial_2022_12_Ion-Creanga_State-Pedagogical-University_Moldova.pdf); 4) The Transilvania University of Brasov, Brasov, Romania (http://luguniv.edu.ua/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/mizch_diial_ugoda_Transilvania_Uni_of_Brasov_signed.pdf); 5) The University of Piteşti, Pitesti, Romania (http://luguniv.edu.ua/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/ugoda_spivpr_Uni-of-Pitesti.pdf). Agreements with Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu (Sibiu, Romania); Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iaşi (Iasi, Romania);Université de Bourgogne (Burgundy, France) are at the final stage of signing.

The mentioned partnerships by this time have a number of practical results of their implementation in the form of financial support for the purpose of equipping the Center for the Study of French Language and Culture of State Institution“Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” from the Embassy of France and the French Institute in Ukraine; active implementation of the student mobility program to Great Britain with the assistance of Faculty of Foreign Languages of State Institution“Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”; development of a number of grant proposals, as well as for the purpose of participation in the Erasmus+ program; material and technical assistance of the university in the form of technical equipment and furniture; development of the concept of implementation of the double diploma program for Master’s degree program for students of Faculty of Foreign Languages, etc.

Traditionally, the University congratulates its international partners at the end of December. This year, Faculty of Foreign Languages joined the celebration, and its students and lecturers designed Christmas cards for foreign institutions.

Upholding the traditions of international educational diplomacy, State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” confidently sums up the results of 2022, significantly expanding the circle of its foreign partners.
